Introduction
PLY (People Like You) is a social experiences platform. This website is owned and operated by PH100 Ltd, a private limited company registered in England and Wales (Company No. 12219023, VAT No. 426 1859 84), with its registered office at Riley Studios, 724 Holloway Road, London, N19 3JD ("we", "us", "our").
These Terms govern your use of www.plysocial.com and your participation in PLY events and services. By creating an account or making a purchase, you confirm you have read and agreed to these Terms.
These Terms are governed by the laws applicable in the part of the United Kingdom where you are resident.
Any dispute will be subject to the jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales, Scotland or Northern Ireland, depending on where you are resident.
1. Definitions
The following terms are used throughout this document:
| Term | Definition |
|---|---|
| Activity Payment | The cost of a specific event or experience, charged separately at the time of booking in addition to your Membership or PLY Experience ticket. |
| Booking | A confirmed reservation for a PLY event made through the Platform. |
| Event | A social experience arranged, coordinated or facilitated by PLY. |
| Membership | A recurring monthly subscription granting access to PLY's platform and services, which renews automatically each month until cancelled. |
| PLY Experience | A one-off £9.99 ticket that lets you book and attend a single PLY Event without holding a Membership. The Activity Payment for that Event is charged separately, in addition to the PLY Experience ticket fee. |
| Platform | The website at www.plysocial.com and any associated apps or digital services operated by PH100 Ltd. |
| You / Your | The individual purchasing a Membership or a PLY Experience ticket and using the Platform. |
2. Eligibility and Your Account
Who Can Use PLY
You must be at least 18 years old to register an account or make any purchase. By using PLY, you confirm that you are 18 or over and legally capable of entering into a binding contract.
Your Account
When you register, you must provide accurate, current and complete information. You are responsible for:
- Keeping your account details up to date
- Maintaining the security and confidentiality of your password
- All activity that occurs under your account
Do not share your account with anyone else. If you suspect unauthorised use of your account, contact us immediately at hello@plysocial.com. We may ask you to verify your identity at any time.
3. PLY Membership
What Membership Includes
A PLY Membership gives you access to:
- Book and attend PLY Events
- Matching and group allocation services
- Venue booking and coordination
- Member pricing on Activity Payments
- Any other benefits described on the Platform from time to time
What Membership Does Not Cover
Unless expressly stated in an event description, Membership does not cover:
- Food, drinks or other costs at venues
- Travel or accommodation
- Activity Payments, which are charged separately at the time of each Booking
How Membership Works
PLY Membership is a recurring monthly subscription. It renews automatically each month until you cancel (see Section 8). Current prices are displayed on the Platform and include VAT where applicable.
Prefer Not to Subscribe?
You do not need a Membership to attend a PLY Event. You can instead buy a one-off PLY Experience ticket for a single Event (see Section 4).
30-Day Money-Back Guarantee
If you attend your first three PLY Events within 30 days of your Membership purchase and do not feel the Membership has earned its keep, you may request a full refund of your Membership fee.
To claim, simply reply to your welcome email or olivia@plysocial.com within 30 days of your purchase date. No forms, no questions asked.
This guarantee applies once per person, is not transferable, and does not affect your statutory rights under Section 7. It applies to Memberships only. It does not apply to PLY Experience tickets or Activity Payments.
4. PLY Experience Tickets
Booking Without a Membership
A PLY Experience ticket is a one-off £9.99 ticket that lets you book and attend a single PLY Event without holding a Membership. It gives you the matching, small-group curation and venue coordination for that one Event.
The Activity Payment Is Separate
The £9.99 PLY Experience ticket fee covers your place at the Event only. The Activity Payment (the cost of the specific event or experience) is charged separately, in addition to the ticket fee, at the time of Booking. Both amounts are shown before you confirm your Booking, and all prices include VAT where applicable.
PLY Experience Tickets Are Non-Refundable
PLY Experience ticket fees are non-refundable. This includes where we cancel or reschedule an Event: in those cases, any refund applies to the Activity Payment only, and the £9.99 ticket fee is not refunded (see Section 10). The 30-day money-back guarantee (Section 3) and the 14-day cooling-off right (Section 7) apply to Memberships only and do not apply to PLY Experience tickets.
5. Bookings and Events
How to Book
All Bookings must be made through the Platform. We cannot accept or honour bookings made through any third party. Full Event details, including date, time, what is included, the Activity Payment amount and (if you are booking without a Membership) the PLY Experience ticket fee, will be shown on the Platform before you confirm your Booking.
Payment to Confirm Your Booking
Payment is collected at the time of Booking, and your Booking is only confirmed once full payment has been received. For Members, this means any Activity Payment that applies. For non-members, this means the £9.99 PLY Experience ticket fee together with the Activity Payment. Only genuine, paid Bookings will be processed.
Group Allocation
We may adjust group sizes and participant allocations where reasonably necessary to deliver the Event experience. Where we make a material change to the group composition that significantly alters the nature of your booking, we will notify you as soon as possible.
Your Responsibility at Events
Unless expressly stated in the event description, you are responsible for your own food, drinks and any other costs at the venue.
6. Cancellation, Rescheduling and No-Shows
Rescheduling Your Booking
You may move your Booking to another available event by giving us sufficient notice:
| Who | Notice Required | Outcome |
|---|---|---|
| Members | At least 24 hours before | Activity Payment transfers to your new Booking |
| PLY Experience ticket holders | At least 24 hours before | Activity Payment and PLY Experience ticket transfer to your new Booking |
Late Cancellation
If you cancel after the notice period has passed, the following applies:
| Who | Event Type | Outcome |
|---|---|---|
| Members | Brunch or Dinner (< 24 hrs notice) | Late cancellation fee of £10 charged to your payment method |
| Members | All other Events (< 24 hrs notice) | Activity Payment is forfeited (non-refundable) |
| PLY Experience ticket holders | Any Event (< 24 hrs notice) | PLY Experience ticket fee is non-refundable and the Activity Payment is forfeited |
No-Shows
If you do not attend an Event and have not cancelled:
| Who | Event Type | Outcome |
|---|---|---|
| Members | Brunch or Dinner | No-show fee of £10 charged to your payment method |
| Members | All other Events | Activity Payment is forfeited |
| PLY Experience ticket holders | Any Event | PLY Experience ticket fee is non-refundable and the Activity Payment is forfeited |
The £10 fee for late cancellation or no-show at Brunch and Dinner events represents our genuine pre-estimate of losses caused by your absence, including minimum spend obligations with venues and reserved capacity that we cannot resell at short notice. These are not penalties.
7. Your Statutory Right to Cancel Membership
14-Day Cooling-Off Period
If you purchase a PLY Membership online, you have the legal right to cancel within 14 days of the date your order is confirmed, without giving any reason (Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013). This 14-day cooling-off right applies to Memberships only.
To exercise this right, email us at hello@plysocial.com within 14 days of your purchase confirmation. We will refund your payment within 14 days using the same payment method, subject to any deduction for services already used (see below).
Immediate Activation and Pro-Rata Deduction
Your Membership activates immediately on purchase. By completing your purchase, you expressly request that we begin providing services straight away, including matching, group allocation, event placement and administrative coordination. You acknowledge that:
- If you cancel within 14 days and have not used any Membership services, you will receive a full refund.
- If you cancel within 14 days after having used Membership services (for example, by making a Booking or attending an Event), we may deduct a proportionate amount calculated by reference to the number of days elapsed and any services used.
PLY Experience Tickets
A PLY Experience ticket is a one-off booking for a specific Event on a specific date. It does not carry a 14-day cooling-off right, and the ticket fee is non-refundable (see Section 4).
8. Membership Billing and Auto-Renewal
Auto-Renewal
Your Membership renews automatically each month unless you cancel beforehand. By purchasing a Membership, you authorise us to charge your payment method at the start of each monthly period.
Cancelling Your Membership
You can cancel your Membership at any time through your account settings or by emailing hello@plysocial.com. Cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing period. You will retain access until that date. Cancellation does not entitle you to a refund for any part of the current period already paid (except where you are exercising your 14-day statutory right).
Price Changes
We may change Membership prices or terms. If we do, we will give you at least 30 days' written notice before the changes take effect. If you do not accept the new terms, you may cancel before the change takes effect at no extra charge. We will not apply a price increase to any billing period you have already paid for.
9. Payment
By making any purchase on the Platform, you authorise PH100 Ltd to charge your payment method for the amounts due, which may include:
- Membership fees (at purchase and at each monthly auto-renewal)
- PLY Experience ticket fees
- Activity Payments
- Late cancellation or no-show fees (where applicable under Section 6)
All prices are shown inclusive of VAT where applicable. We use third-party payment processors and do not store your full card details.
If a payment fails, we may retry the charge and may suspend your access to the Platform until payment is resolved. If you believe a charge is incorrect, contact us at hello@plysocial.com as soon as possible and we will investigate.
If you raise a chargeback or payment dispute with your bank that we reasonably believe relates to a valid charge, we may suspend or restrict your account pending resolution of the dispute.
10. When We Cancel or Reschedule Events
We may need to cancel or reschedule an Event due to circumstances beyond our reasonable control. This includes, but is not limited to: venue unavailability, severe weather, public health requirements, insufficient participant numbers, safety concerns, or other unforeseen circumstances ("Force Majeure").
If we cancel an Event, we will:
- Give you as much advance notice as reasonably practicable
- Offer you a place at an alternative Event of equivalent value, or
- Issue a full refund of your Activity Payment within 14 days if no suitable alternative is available.
If we reschedule an Event, we will notify you promptly. If the new date does not suit you, contact us within 7 days of our notification and we will refund your Activity Payment.
If you booked with a PLY Experience ticket, the £9.99 ticket fee is non-refundable even where we cancel or reschedule an Event. In these circumstances, any refund applies to the Activity Payment only.
We will not reimburse travel, accommodation or other costs you may have incurred in connection with a cancelled or rescheduled Event. We recommend you check your own travel insurance.
11. Our Liability
Our Commitment to You
We will provide our services with reasonable care and skill, as required by the Consumer Rights Act 2015. If a service we provide does not meet this standard, you may be entitled to a repeat performance or a price reduction, as set out in that Act.
What We Are Not Liable For
Subject to the section below on liabilities we cannot limit, we are not liable for:
- Travel, accommodation or other costs you incur in connection with an Event, regardless of whether the Event is cancelled or rescheduled
- The quality of food, drinks or service provided by venues (which are operated independently of PLY)
- The conduct, actions or statements of other participants at Events or on the Platform
- Interactions, disputes or incidents between participants or between participants and venue staff
- Indirect or consequential losses, including loss of income, business, profits, anticipated savings, or data
- Interruptions to Platform availability, provided we take reasonable steps to maintain access and minimise disruption
The Platform is made available without warranty of uninterrupted or error-free access. We will take reasonable steps to maintain availability but cannot guarantee it.
Liabilities We Cannot Limit
Nothing in these Terms limits or excludes our liability for:
- Death or personal injury caused by our negligence
- Fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation
- Any other liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited under UK law, including the Consumer Rights Act 2015
12. Your Conduct
PLY events bring people together. We expect everyone to behave with respect and consideration for others. You must not:
- Behave in a way that is threatening, abusive, discriminatory, harassing, or otherwise harmful towards other participants, venue staff or PLY representatives
- Attend an Event in a state of intoxication that may cause discomfort or risk to others
- Share another participant's personal information (including their attendance at a PLY event) without their consent
- Use the Platform to send unsolicited messages or to harass other members
- Act in any way that could bring PLY into disrepute or cause harm to other participants
If you breach these standards, we may remove you from an Event, and/or suspend or terminate your account in accordance with Section 16. No refund will be given where you are removed from an Event as a result of your conduct.
13. Photography and Filming
Photography, filming and audio recording may take place at PLY Events for promotional and marketing purposes. We rely on our legitimate interests in promoting PLY as the legal basis for this use (UK GDPR Article 6(1)(f)).
We will not use photographs or footage in a way that is intrusive or that identifies you in a context you would reasonably find objectionable. If you would prefer not to appear in any photographs or videos:
- Let us know at the event and we will take reasonable steps to ensure you are not captured, or
- Contact us at hello@plysocial.com to request that any identifiable images of you are not published or are removed from existing materials
We will act on such requests within a reasonable time. Full details of how we handle personal data in photographs and video content are in our Privacy Policy.
14. Intellectual Property
All content on the Platform, including text, images, logos, trademarks, software, design elements and other materials, is owned by or licensed to PH100 Ltd and is protected by UK and international intellectual property laws.
You must not copy, reproduce, redistribute, publish, display or create derivative works from any Platform content without our prior written consent. Personal and non-commercial use of content for reference purposes is permitted provided you do not remove any copyright or attribution notices.
15. Website Use
You agree to use the Platform only for lawful purposes and in accordance with these Terms. You must not:
- Attempt to gain unauthorised access to any part of the Platform, its systems or data
- Use automated tools, bots or scripts to scrape, extract or copy data from the Platform
- Upload or transmit any content that is unlawful, defamatory, offensive, harmful or in breach of a third party's rights
- Interfere with or disrupt the operation of the Platform or the experience of other users
We reserve the right to remove any content you submit and to take action under Section 16 if you breach these obligations.
16. Suspension and Termination
By You
You may close your account at any time through your account settings or by contacting us. Closing your account cancels your Membership from the end of your current billing period. You remain responsible for any charges incurred before closure, and closing your account does not refund any PLY Experience ticket you have already purchased.
By Us
We may suspend or terminate your account (and any active Membership) if:
- You materially or repeatedly breach these Terms
- You engage in conduct at an Event or on the Platform that we reasonably consider abusive, fraudulent, harmful or discriminatory
- Continuing your account would expose us, other users or third parties to harm or legal risk
- You provide false or misleading information when registering or making a purchase
Where the breach is capable of remedy, we will ordinarily give you reasonable notice and an opportunity to resolve it before taking action. Where conduct is serious (for example, harassment of another participant), we may act immediately and without notice.
If we terminate your account due to your breach, you will not be entitled to a refund of any prepaid Membership fees or PLY Experience ticket fees. If we terminate without cause, we will refund a pro-rata portion of any prepaid Membership fee.
17. Privacy and Data Protection
PH100 Ltd is the data controller for the personal data we hold about you. We process your personal data in accordance with UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018. Our Privacy Policy, available at www.plysocial.com, explains:
- What personal data we collect and why
- How we use and share your data
- How long we keep it
- Your rights (including access, rectification, erasure and objection) and how to exercise them
- How to contact our Data Protection contact and the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) if you have concerns
By using PLY, you confirm you have read our Privacy Policy.
18. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time to reflect changes in our services, the law or best practice. For material changes (those that affect your rights or how we deliver services), we will:
- Give you at least 14 days' notice by email before the changes take effect
- Highlight what has changed in the notification
Minor changes, such as corrections or clarifications that do not affect your rights or obligations, may take effect immediately.
If you do not agree to an updated version of the Terms, you may cancel your Membership or close your account before the changes take effect. Continuing to use PLY after the notice period means you accept the updated Terms.
19. Complaints and Dispute Resolution
How to Complain
If something has gone wrong, we want to hear about it and resolve it quickly. Please contact us at hello@plysocial.com or by post at Riley Studios, 724 Holloway Road, London, N19 3JD. We will acknowledge your complaint within 5 business days and aim to provide a full response within 28 days. If we need more time to investigate, we will let you know.
If We Cannot Resolve Your Complaint
If we are unable to resolve your complaint to your satisfaction, you may seek assistance from:
- Citizens Advice Consumer Service: www.citizensadvice.org.uk / 0808 223 1133
- Trading Standards, through your local council
- The courts of England, Wales
Nothing in this section affects your right to bring legal proceedings or to exercise any other statutory rights.
20. General
Governing Law and Jurisdiction
These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, Scotland or Northern Ireland. Any dispute arising from these Terms or your use of PLY will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales, Scotland or Northern Ireland.
Your Statutory Rights
Nothing in these Terms removes or limits any rights you have under UK consumer law, including the Consumer Rights Act 2015, the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013, or the Consumer Protection from Unfair Trading Regulations 2008. Where any provision of these Terms conflicts with your statutory rights, your statutory rights prevail.
Severability
If any provision of these Terms is found to be invalid, unlawful or unenforceable by a court, it will be modified to the minimum extent necessary to make it enforceable, or removed if modification is not possible. The remaining provisions will continue in full force and effect.
Waiver
Failure by us to enforce any provision of these Terms on one occasion does not waive our right to enforce it on a future occasion.
Entire Agreement
These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy and any event-specific terms presented at the time of booking, constitute the entire agreement between you and PH100 Ltd relating to your use of PLY. They replace any previous versions of our Terms.
No Third-Party Rights
These Terms do not create any rights enforceable by a third party under the Contracts (Rights of Third Parties) Act 1999.
